And in that generation shall the times of the gentiles be fulfilled.
And there shall be men standing in that generation that shall not pass until they shall see an overflowing scourge, for a desolating sickness shall cover the land.
But my disciples shall stand in holy places and shall not be moved.
stand (v. intr.): To take up, assert, and defend a viewpoint, position, or perspective believed to be true.
holy (adj.): The state of being connected to the light of truth, having "received the holy ghost."
place (n.): 1) A distinct condition, position, or state of mind. 2) Station in life; calling; occupation; condition.
moved (adj.): Dislodged from a fixed point of view, as by persuasion.
Hear the word of the Lord, you scornful men [i.e., "the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim"] that rule this people which is in Jerusalem: "Because you have said, 'When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us, for we have made lies our refuge and under falsehood have we hidden ourselves' ...
"Therefore, thus says the Lord God: Behold, ... the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. ... When the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then you shall be trodden down by it."
The Lord speaking to one of his disciples:
Let him be humble before me and be without guile, and he shall receive of my spirit, even the Comforter, which shall manifest unto him the truth of all things, and shall give him in the very hour what he shall say. And these signs shall follow him: he shall heal the sick, he shall cast out devils, and shall be delivered from those who would administer unto him deadly poison...
Vaughn, once again you have taught me things I had never even connected before. And you did it all concisely! I really do have to learn how to do that on my blog!
